Heather Orr

Based in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter, Heather Orr creates contemporary lighting and interior pieces through the medium of constructed textiles. Working with traditional textile techniques, her collections combine craftsmanship, texture and a refined modern aesthetic.

Sustainability sits at the heart of the studio, with recycled and reclaimed materials used wherever possible, including recycled cotton cord and restored vintage lampshades. Her Reclaimed Collection gives discarded shades a new lease of life through hand-knotting, fresh finishes and carefully selected yarns. All fabrics and yarns used conform to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Heather’s work explores the relationship between making, wellbeing and contemporary interiors. Alongside her home collections, she delivers workshops and online courses designed to inspire creativity and hands-on making.

Heather holds an MA in Knitted Textiles from the Royal College of Art and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Following graduation, she collaborated with fashion designer Jane Bowler and has since worked with clients including BBC, Soho House, Spotify and WGSN.
